Workout a Plan

Planning is mandatory for business success. Your planning efforts, if carefully done in terms of assessing risk and the unexpected, should help you maximize your chances for success.

Have a Curious mind set

A curious person always keeps asking questions and will be willing to add more knowledge to their self. Successful entrepreneurs do that all the time. Curiosity drives entrepreneurs to learn their companies inside and out, and to never stop looking for ideas to improve their businesses.

Ability to market yourselves and your products/services

Success in marketing comes from experimentation. You need to run experiments continuously, so that you can quickly identify opportunities for growth. Your customers can’t pay for products they don’t even know about. An entrepreneur must be able to market himself and his products and services.

Successful marketing programs take time to build. So focus on a few key initiatives, and stick to them.

Ability to Sell

Through marketing, customers becomes aware of the new products and services you offer and it drives more customers in to your business, but sales are going to be what keeps them coming back and keeps putting money into your pocket. The ability to turn leads into sales and sales into ongoing business is an important skill that any entrepreneur should master, especially start-ups.

Focus on your customers / Get to know your customers

A good business owner will always have time for a customer, whether they have a complaint or praise.

It’s a researched fact that most business (80 percent) will come from repeat customers rather than new customers. Therefore, along with trying to draw newcomers, you need to make sure that you are helping to meet your old customers’ need too. Having good customer focus will mean that you see every customer as an opportunity to do better and grow. Having a real passion to help your customers, will help you succeed in this!

The ability to lead others and identify strength and weaknesses

As mentioned above, as an entrepreneur you’ll be called upon to wear different types of hats most times. It’ll be up to you to motivate and lead your workers to give their 110% to the tasks assigned to them. An entrepreneur should be a good listener always and must have the ability to recognize their company’s / employees strength and weaknesses.

Ability to Network and communicate

Networking requires you to get out of your comfort zone, particularly if you aren’t a naturally social person. In today’s business world, you really don’t have to move out of your office to network. Technology has made it easier for you. Professional networks like LinkedIn provide a great way to stay in touch with old friends and make new acquaintances in business.

Ability to communicate in a right way will help you to cultivate new connections who can become potential customers. Good communication can also help you create loyal employees and can charm customers to come back to you again. Try being an active participant in seminars and conferences too.

Obviously, no single entrepreneur is going to be a master of all these different skills at once.  There’s no one perfect way to be a successful Entrepreneur, but you can improve yourselves by focusing on the above,  and equip yourself with the business skills set for your entrepreneur success!
