How to Promote Your Business on Social Media
When used correctly, social media can be a powerful marketing tool. However, it requires time, effort, and understanding of the social media platforms to make best use of it. You must have a strategy behind all social media promotions.
Start by asking yourself these questions – Are you reaching the right people? Are you getting them to do something that’s of value to your business? We recommend to focus on 2-3 social media platforms where your customers are most active, rather than putting your efforts on multiple social medias with little results. Here are some other tips on how to promote your business on social media.
Post valuable content or run a contest to interact with your followers
Simply posting messages and articles on Twitter, Facebook and other social media is not going to attract or engage your followers. Engaging your followers is most important and hence you need to make sure you post contents that add value to your readers or you can run a contest or start a small quiz or just ask for their feedback to get the conversation going. This slowly builds trust and inspires customers to tell their friends about you.
Have an action plan
We advice to have an action plan in advance rather looking out for content in the morning every day. Prepare your content or contest to make your followers engage and would be better if you can schedule your post for a week on a specific time. But do keep a look out for the comments and replies every day.
Be accessible and responsive
Try to respond immediately to comments, questions and feedback on your online community. Check in daily to reply to their comments and definitely this would have a greater impact on building your relationships, which is most important.
Be authentic
Being authentic is key in successful social media. “Your greatest asset as a small business owner is yourself,” Goldstein says. “People create relationships with people, not with a soulless brand, so ‘personalize’ yourself as the voice of your business online and people will be more likely to trust, like, and ‘like’ you.”
Choose attention grabbing images to promote your post
Social media posts that are image-driven and brief tend to perform well. Include good images on your posts. A relevant image that is humorous, moving, or informative will catch people’s attention when they’re scrolling through their feeds and it’s always proven that level of engagements and entries can increase upon including attention grabbing images to your campaigns.
Keep track of the progress of campaigns
Pay attention to on-site analytics that most major social media platforms offer today, and consider using a universal monitoring program to help you keep track of results, mentions, and other important metrics. Google analytics is a great way to keep track of the progress of your promotion efforts on social media. You can check which topics generate the most traffic and then tailor your posts to get more visitor traffic as often as possible.
IT’S YOUR TURN
