Mailchimp vs AWeber: Which is Better?
It’s true that building a list of readers or followers is paramount to building your brand. Email is a very effective and very cheap way of communicating with your customers and prospects.
Once your readers or customers subscribe for your email newsletters, you can send them tailored information directly to their inbox. The more valuable information you send them, the more they build up their trust in you. This is important, building relationship in business, though the ultimate goal is for them to trust you and make a purchase from you since they value your knowledge so much.
Having an email list or newsletter is the best way to mobilize your audience to take action. If you are not doing this already, you really should consider doing it.
So now the big question is Mailchimp or Aweber: Which is better?
We should say both are brilliant options for email marketing and have many similar features. Let us have a quick comparison of both here.
Design capabilities and templates
Mailchimp lets you either design your forms entirely from scratch or use their GUI to design a professional looking form. It is easy for beginners to use. MailChimp’s editing process for emails is also incredibly easy.
AWeber on the other hand, is also easier for beginners and seems to steer you towards using one of their pre-baked form templates. For anyone who wants to customize the communications they send to their customers, this might not be their preferred way of working. There are over 700 templates to choose from or you can pay a premium to have a template designed for you.
Tracking capability
Both AWeber and MailChimp have extensive tracking capabilities. Both allow you to really understand your customers so that you can learn who they are, such as what country they view your email in and what email provider they use; and what type of content they like and build that into future campaigns.
Support system
AWeber provides support via telephone, email, and web chat every day of the week. Their support stops at 8pm during the week and 5pm on weekends. It’s a lot better than MailChimp’s support, which is through a contact form only.
Mobile apps
Both MailChimp and AWeber have developed their own mobile apps, which allow you to send campaigns and view reports directly from your mobile. You can also use your mobile to send texts to your subscribers as another way to communicate with them.
User friendly
Users may usually take some time to learn through any new technology. Once you run through all features, you would definitely find it easy to use both Mailchimp and AWeber.
Cost
Mailchimp offers a free plan forever, where you can create a list of up to 2,000 subscribers, and 12,000 emails per month. If you have more than 2000 subscribers, you will need to upgrade to $30 per month plan.
Whereas Aweber has a one month trial at $1. After your first $1 month, you can either choose a plan of $19 per month (up to 500 subscribers) or a plan of $29 per month (for up to 2500 subscribers).
Conclusion
So which is better? Mailchimp or Awber? We will leave it to you to decide. Though personally we love using Mailchimp and recommend all our clients to use it too.
