How to Create an Effective Email Newsletter
More often we have been told that email marketing is good for business but most of us don’t really believe it. Most have always wondered, why spend time on things that people never reads?
Email newsletter is important in today’s digital era, as all your customers are not going to see all of your social media updates, and certainly won’t remember to check your website regularly. That’s the reason why they have signed in for your newsletter. However not all email newsletters are effective and there is a possibility for your recipients to reject or unsubscribe to your email newsletters easily. So you need to ensure that you remain connected to your readers… But how?
Here we share few steps on how to create an effective email newsletter that your customers love reading:
Catchy and exciting subject line
The subject line of the email newsletter should be able to provoke a curiosity in the minds of the reader and should compel them to open and read the message. If the subject line isn’t compelling, interesting or exciting, your reader may push it in to recycle bin. Try to include your company name in the subject line and avoid using generic line like “Monthly Newsletter” or “Feb Newsletter” etc.
Know your readers and include informative contents
Forget about email marketing here and focus more on your customers or readers to maintain their interest and make them feel valued. Content needs to be relevant and helpful to your customer. Of course you can include offers, by linking back to how it’s going to be useful to your readers in form of offering helpful tips, resources and products to overcome their challenges and you’ll see they be more interested to read and would even forward to their friends also.
Simple layout with an option to “reply back”
Try to avoid email newsletters with too many graphics and texts, as it may end up in junk folders of your readers. Most of the newsletters are found to be with an option of “Do-not-reply” to this email. Doesn’t that sound unfair? It will be good to have an option to reply back; so that your customers can share he feedback and questions if any.
Option to share on social medias
Forwarding an email is easy and readers can always easily forward to their friends. It will be more good to have an option to share on few major social medias like Facebook, twitter, LinkedIn etc to make it much more reachable.
Make it easy to grab attention
Lengthy newsletters may be boring, but still you can make it easy to grab attention of readers by emphasizing the most important paragraphs with bullets etc, as the readers will not spend more time reading the entire content.
Timely schedule of your email newsletter
Blasting out of newsletters should be on a regular basis with a specific frequency, whether once a week or once a month. Plan out a specific time and frequency to blast out your email marketing and your readers would wait to receive it.
IT’S YOUR TURN
